I few weeks ago I noticed an ad seeking an experienced commercial brewmaster for a new brewing operation in Jacksonville. I had no idea who it was for nor did the ad provide any hints. I chalked it up as the soon-to-open BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse looking for someone. But, as the article on Amber Waves, the Florida Times-Union’s beer blog, written by Roger Bull reveals, I was way off base.
It seems, friends and beer-lovers, that we may be getting another full-fledged micro-brewery right here in the river city. Jacksonville is beginning to shape up into a beer-lover’s Mecca. With three full-time breweries (four if you count the big kid on the block A-B) and a plethora of brew-pubs, pubs, and restaurants like Engine 15, Brewer’s Pizza, Kickback’s, and O’Brothers, things are really starting to hop!
