Jacksonville Beer Week is off to a roaring start and the events just keep on coming. If you are out and about, looking for an event to attend, here is today’s list of beer-centric activities. As is the case all week long, there are events all over town, so find one near you and enjoy great craft beer!
Pele’s Wood Fire
Pele’s has already created a buzz for itself in the old drug store at Park and King Streets in Riverside. Locals know that the food and wood fired pizzas created by Chef Micah are beyond words scrumptious. And the desserts! Let’s just say you are doing yourself a serious disservice if you do not try the cheesecake.
For Jax Beer Week, Chef Micah and co-owner Matt Tierney have whipped up a special beer dinner menu in addition to their regular service. Be sure to stop by and try the treats prepared in their show kitchen in full view of the entire restaurant. Expect three courses with the beer dinner and three great local beers paired with each.
Salad dressed with cheese and dressing made with Green Room’s Diamond Belgian Wit beer.
Chicken with honey-beer glaze Featuring Bold City Brewing’s Rhino Rye Pale Ale.
Chocolate cake baked with Intuition Ale Work’s Truck Stop Breakfast Stout.
Green Room Brewery
Tonight the Tap Room at Green Room at the beach will be opening at 4:00 pm, which also happens to be when they plan to tap a special collaborative beer brewed by the staff of The Mellow Mushroom restaurant at Intuition Ale Works. The beer: double wheat IPA that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Intuition Ale Works
The folks at Intuition, in the true spirit of Jacksonville Beer Week, will share their taps with other Jacksonville and Florida brews. The tap take-over will last through the end of Beer Week on Saturday.
Cork & Keg
For all the ladies out there who have wanted to try craft beer, but were intimidated by the sheer number of styles, Cork & Keg in Jullington Creek is offering “Ladies Pint Out” tonight only. This is a ladies only beer tasting event that begins at 7:00 pm. Join Carolyn Graham from Brown Distributing for samples of great beers and B Nektar meads. The event is open to all ladies whether they are new to the world of craft beer or seasoned aficionados.
The Orange Park pizza and beer destination will be hosting representatives and distributors from Stone Brewing for a night of tasting. There will be at least three Stone beers to taste and possibly a few surprises!
