Monday, May 14 marks the beginning of American Craft beer Week and Jacksonville has a stellar lineup of events that will keep craft beer aficionados and newcomers alike busy and happy. Local breweries, bars, and restaurants are pulling out all the stops to make this a week that will be remembered and emulated for years to come.
American Craft Beer Week was first celebrated in July of 2006 as the Brewer’s Association American Beer Month. The following year, the celebration was changed to May and became a week long. In the first year of the event Congress passed House Resolution 753, affirming American Craft Beer Week and craft beer brewers for their positive impact on American industry. In the years after that American Craft Beer Week grew exponentially. In 2011, 1,521 events were listed from around the nation on the official ACBW calendar – a ten-fold increase from the first year of the celebration.
In Jacksonville, brewers, restaurant owners, bar owners, distributers, and beer-lovers are eagerly awaiting the opening day of this exciting week. There are events in every corner of the city and for every level of beer aficionado.
As of today, here are the events planned, but check back often, new events are being added every day!
