Growing up in St. Louis, Mo., I had always heard that the area around the A-B brewery downtown was riddled with these types of tunnels. The brewery used them before the days of reliable refrigeration to lager their beer. I have even heard stories that there was a tunnel cut underneath th city from the brewery to the the main train station.
This story reminded me of the stories I heard as a young man. I hope you find it a fascinating as I did.

Another one? damn that like find all the random old tunnels we have here in NJ from around the Revolutionary War.
