PBR and Bill Murray team up for charity golf auction

12 Nov

bill_murrayBill Murray is best known for his iconic and hilarious roles in such movies as Ghostbusters and Caddy Shack. But, within the golfing community he is also known for his zeal for the game, his Annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack® Charity Golf Tournament and his on-course fashion. His enthusiasm for golf runs so deep, in fact, that in 2001 he opened the Murray Bros. Caddyshack Restaurant with his brothers at World Golf Village near St. Augustine, Fla. And, since the inception of the restaurant the Murray has put on his gold tournament.

The next tournament take place March 26-27, 2015, but the festivities have already started. Murray Brothers Caddyshack Charity Golf, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Loudmouth Golf have teamed up to auction off a signed pair of the shorts, by Bill Murray himself, as well as the ultimate golf package (to the sold-out, 15th Annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack® Charity Golf Tournament with VIP access, including a meet and greet with the Murray Brothers and hotel accommodations). The winning bidder for each package will receive a PBR Loudmouth sport coat and pants.

Proceeds from both charity auctions will go to purchase an Action Trackchair (worth $14,000) for an injured veteran. This ultimate off-road wheelchair allows the individual using it to go places they never thought possible – mountain roads, campgrounds, the woods, the beach, through mud and snow and more.

The auctions are live at www.ebay/caddyshackgolf.

“This donation will significantly improve an injured veteran’s independence and quality of life,” said Dan McHugh, CMO for Pabst Brewing Co. “Every day, the Murray Brothers, PBR and Loudmouth Golf are inspired by the heroes who risk their lives to ensure the future prosperity of our great nation. It’s an honor to be able to support our injured veterans’ recovery and freedom.”

In 2001, the Murray Brothers opened Murray Bros. Caddyshack® at World Golf Village, home of the World Golf Hall of Fame, in St. Augustine, Florida. All six of them (Andy, Bill, Brian-Doyle, Ed, Joel and Johnny) created the Murray Bros. Caddyshack® Charity Golf Tournament to give back to the local community. The tournament is an all-inclusive, two-day event held during the spring, combining great parties, fabulous golf, one-of-a-kind concerts and fun, just as the Murrays intended.
